Ouirgane, a pure nature
The Atlas sings because of the humanized nature of its mountains. Wherever you go, you encounter the footprints of humans. If happiness prevails, it is because the mountaineers live in perfect harmony with their mountain, like nomads with their steppe. Few city dwellers know the mountains of their country but a weekend is enough for them to escape the thousand constraints of the city to themselves in the middle of a breath-taking nature. Ouirgane is just 65 kilometres from Marrakech, on the road to Taroudant. It is a village of Amazigh population in the province of Haouz. In the surroundings, There are summits up to 2,300 meters of altitude; a boon for admirers of the pedestrian excursions, the trek, and the climbing.
What you have just read is an extract from the book ‘Faces and landscapes from the heart of Morocco, travel books’. Its author, Jaouad Mdidech, journalist and writer, is himself the manager of Ouirgane Kasbah. Our guesthouse is perched on a hill in the middle of pure nature, near the Toubkal National Park. From the four terraces of the kasbah and the rooms, one can appreciate, without barrier, the Ouirgane valley, and Azaden river flowing towards Yacoub El Mansour dam lake.
